Wildlife At Its Best Is Sure To Take Your Breath Away

Wildlife can be breathtaking at times. Imagine yourself walking in a dense forest all alone enjoying the beauty of nature. The thought alone makes our mind happy visualize the effect of nature when you will actually be standing in one.  The scene will mesmerize you for sure.  There was a time when our land was full of these natural beauties; but the advancement of technology and the rapid industrialization has left us with more concrete jungles than natural ones. This rapid growth has led to increased declination of natural ecosystem. This has also resulted in non replaceable loss of many an endangered species.
If you happen to be a normal person remaining updated with the current affairs and news events; you must be aware of the fact that only 1411 tigers are now left in India. We have nothing for their survival; this is a chance if we miss it we will never be able to forgive ourselves. There is an answer somewhere and the answer is preserving the natural habitat of these animals and plants. Raising eco friendly wild life sanctuaries will help these wandering species. Not only will these sanctuaries provide habitat to animals but also allow common people to live in an unspoiled and unpolluted environment. Populace will horde the place as it will have a well-preserved environment with no pollution to name. Tourism will grow along with animal and plant population. In this way the delicate flora and fauna could again become alive and beautiful.
Take an example of Bandhavgarh National Park, which is one of the popular national parks in India located in the Umaria district of Madhya Pradesh. This park has a large biodiversity. The density of the tiger population at Bandhavgarh is one of the highest known in India. The park has a large breeding population of Leopards, and various species of deer.  The tiger view resort bandhavgarh provides an ample platform for showcasing our traditional cultures like living in tree houses and would give tourists the feel that they have come back in time by centuries.  It is also a haven for nature lovers, bird lovers, adventurers and wildlife lovers who want to remain close to nature and see wildlife without chains or cages.  There are also bandhavgarh hotels where people can stay if they feel insecure in a bandhavgarh jungle lodge. Citing this example I will like to appeal all the youth of this country to do something for these endangered species.

Create an Abandon Ship Bag

We have taken many cruises. And have returned safely from all of them. Therefore, it wasn’t until very recently that we thought about creating an Abandon Ship Bag. We had an upcoming trip to Antarctica. The MS Explorer, The Little Red Boat, had sunk in Antarctic waters a few months before we were scheduled to leave. That made us think long and hard about what we might do in a similar emergency.

Did this cause us to rethink our trip? Yes, for about 10 seconds. My husband and I talked about this and we decided that the best thing we could do was to simply be prepared in case something like this happened to our ship.

We decided to do some investigating and ended up creating an Abandon Ship Bag.

When we got on board, we emptied one of our backpacks. We then lined it with a heavy plastic bag we had brought along for the purpose and then put into it:

money

credit cards

copy of passports (the ship held the originals)

medicines

emergency blankets – purchased in a camping store for $4.00 each

flashlights

change of underwear

extra pair of socks

We kept the backpack at the foot of the bed so that it was easy to grab on the way out, if necessary. We also left it open so we could quickly add hats, scarves, gloves and cameras. (I’m very pleased to report we didn’t need it after all.)

Prague Castle

Prague Castle

Prague Castle is a castle in Prague where the Czech kings, Holy Roman Emperors and presidents of Czechoslovakia and the Czech Republic have had their offices. It has been, for more than 1200 years, the political centre of Czech state. But the oldest part of the castle mainly hosts tourists. The true heart of the Czech state and the most sacred place in all of the Czech lands lies in the middle of the third courtyard. This is St. Vitus’ Cathedral, which incorporates St. Wenceslas’ Chapel. Here rests the body of the eternal ruler and protector of Czech land. Above his grave the Crown Jewels have been placed in the crown chambers. The most valuable of which, St. Wenceslas’ Crown, comes from the time of Charles IV.
The history of the castle stretches back to the 9th century (870). It was rebuilt and increased during the centuries. In 1918 the castle became the seat of the president of the new Czechoslovak Republic. The New Royal Palace and the gardens were renovated by Slovenian architect Joze Plecnik. Renovations continued in 1936 under Plecnik’s successor Pavel Janak.
The Golden Gate
Between the large southern tower and St. Wenceslas’ Chapel you can find the monumental entrance to the cathedral, called the Golden Gate. It is decorated with a mosaic from the time of Charles IV on which he is portrayed with his fourth wife, Elizabeth of Pommern. This mosaic on the Prague Castle is considered until today to be the largest and oldest outdoor mosaic north of the Alps.
The truth of the legend
During the Nazi occupation of Czechoslovakia, during World War II, Prague Castle became the headquarters of Reinhard Heydrich, the “Reich Protector of Bohemia and Moravia”. It is said that he placed the Bohemian crown on his head; old legends say that a usurper who places the crown on his head is doomed to die within a year. Less than a year after assuming power, Heydrich was assassinated.
The beautiful neighbourhood
There are various gardens in the nearby surroundings of Prague castle, which have been growing here since the time of Ferdinand I. (since 1534). They harbour a number of Renaissance and Baroque statues from the premier artists of their time (including M.B. Braun) and no less noteworthy structures. 
After Czechoslovakia split into the Czech Republic and Slovakia, the castle became the seat of the Head of State of the new Czech Republic. Similar to what Masaryk did with Plecnik, president Vaclav Havel commissioned Borek Sipek to be the architect of post-communism Prague Castle’s necessary improvements in particular of the facelift of the Castle’s Gallery of paintings.
Prague Castle is one of the biggest castles in the world (according to Guinness Book of Records the biggest ancient castle) at about 570 meters in length and an average of about 130 meters wide.

The Lost Art of Vacationing

The stock markets are rocky, and the economy is in rough shape. Work is even more stressful then normal, and a pay raise seems like an idea of days gone by!

With today’s high stress work environment and challenging economy it is more important then ever to be able to get away from it all and relax. Yet with today’s economic uncertainty you hesitate to spend the money on a family vacation for fear that the money may be required later.

Any doctor or therapist will tell you that taking time away from the stress of work is a necessary way to recharge body and soul. It can improve health and restore the body’s ability to fight infection and withstand stress. The need for vacations and down time away from work is more essential than ever. Yet, with a declining economy and an uncertain job market fewer and fewer people can afford to vacation with their families.

This does not need to be the case. These last few years have seen massive changes in the vacation market. There are new options available for families that wish to vacation together that do not require huge infusions of cash. It’s a new market and it represents a complete shift in the way we think about our vacation time.

The timeshares, all inclusive resorts, and villa rentals now have to compete with destination clubs, exchange programs, points programs, a wholesale vacation market, and what is now a hugely competitive cottage rental real-estate market. Did you know you can actually rent a cottage and get it as an “all inclusive” package? This was not possible 10 years ago but it is now.

Do not let work, or a bad economy stop you from taking advantage of all these new and great family vacation alternatives. The risks are far too great, and the rewards are even greater. Quality family time improves health, and creates a solid, stable and healthy environment. It is one of the best and most effective methods for reducing stress, and in the end, it actually increases productivity.

Enjoy your time off. Enjoy spending it with your family and your friends and make sure that you get your well deserved break from work. Enjoy!
