Traveling Agents Vs Internet
There really are not that many options when it comes to booking a flight to your favorite destination. The only two options available are either traveling agents or the Internet. Traveling to Russia by air offers limitless variety of exit points and flight services to choose from as the country holds a record 70 plus international airports.
Traveling agents are not a very reliable way of getting your money’s worth. If you are looking for a bargain on airfare to Russia or to any other country in the world, remember, you need to be specific. Make it clear at the onset of your dealing that your preference is getting the lowest possible fare on a reasonable airline. If you fail to mention this, there is a huge chance you would end up getting a special that does not fall under the category of either economy or APEX. Another reason why an agent may not get you the best deal is his/her hesitance to look hard and bother with helping you to the utmost. This may arise due to personal incompetence of the agent or a lack of motivation to help customers. With virtually no knowledge of an excellent bargain the agent next to him/her has been giving out to customers for days perhaps because of a low commission that does not merit going that extra mile for the customer’s benefit, the agent might just get you the opposite of what you require.
Similarly, relying too much on the internet to provide you with the best deal in cheap airfare to Russia or anywhere else is also not advisable. An internet based travel service may make offers to you that may be the lowest, an average or a test price leaving the option to you to decide same as buying from an agent. After giving you different prices, you are left pretty much on your own to decide what you want to do. Making comparisons and coming up with an intelligent choice is a move you have to make by yourself. The clever thing to do here would be to take the offer that appears cheapest and offers full refund in case you change your mind later on finding a better deal instead of waiting till the last moment. It can be confusing. You might get hopeful on seeing an offer with an attractive main leg costs that may get you to book immediately, yet do not forget to check the connecting costs. There is usually a hitch here with the connecting leg costing much higher.
There are however some reliable internet travel sites used by many satisfied customers. Some of these are Travelocity.com, Expedia.com, Priceline.com, Previewtravel.com, itn.net, AmericanExpress.com/travel, Hotwire.com and Orbitz.com. Of these, Priceline and Orbitz offer some of the best bargains. The former offers a reverse search option where a customer enters the amount he is willing to spend and the site returns results of airlines offering airfares within that limit. Orbitz offers detailed information about the routes and fares and works in an untraditional manner of returning some part of its revenues to the airline companies.
