Romancing in Verona

Romance is alive and the love tragedy of Juliet and Romeo lives on in Verona. Notes from couples are placed at the entrance of Juliet’s house. Notes that read Peter and Lindy forever, Paul heart Samantha and Greg loves Wendy 2001. The notion and feelings behind the famous Shakespeare play come together in people’s hearts while visiting this fabulous city.

The Details

There are so many great sights to see, and many of them aren’t even well know tourist sights. To walk along the river path beside beautiful trees that sway in the wind. Take a rest near the colluseum where there is a small garden. It’s a perfect place to watch the locals in their daily life.

Climb up the stairs near the Roman Theatre to the lookout and you will see a breathtaking view of the city and river. I love seeing all the orange rooftops and the landmarks that make Verona so wonderful. The atmosphere in Juliet’s Courtyard is full of excited tourists touching the heart of Juliet. Everyone lines up with much anticipation to have their turn to touch the statue.

The one must see sight is the Coloseum. Still used during the summer season for Opera performances. I enjoyed it much more than the one in Rome. This coloseum, you are free to walk about. Climb all the steps to the top level and see the view. You are able to walk all the way around from the top level to see every part. I picture in my head what it must have looked like back in the days of gladiators. Amazing to be able to see such fascinating historically significant architecture.

No matter what you do in Verona, your bound to have a good time. There is literally something for everyone.
