Things to do in Kota Kinabalu – A plethora of choice along the coast of Malaysia

The first thing that comes to mind when thinking of Malaysia is the heavily modernized city of Kuala Lumpur which has become an internationally recognized symbol of the country. The Klias Wetlands is a two hour drive from Kota Kinabalu but is well worth the effort. This mangrove forest reserve is home to a formidable array of indigenous life that is mainly dominated by monkeys but also includes various bird species and other animals such as Water Buffalo. The environment here is also pleasing to the senses with fresh air, lakes, and trees that create a pleasing atmosphere.
