Is Cheap Luggage Best

Is Cheap Luggage Best?

As you know, it is fun to take a trip. If you are just an occasional traveler, you may not give much thought to the luggage you use. On the other hand, if you are an avid traveler, you know the importance of having quality luggage; cheap luggage just will not cut it. However, that does not mean you have to pay an arm and a leg either. First, you should familiarize yourself with the best types of suitcases to have for travel, as well as the brands. Once you get this information, you can price compare to find the best deal. When doing so, you don’t get “cheap luggage” but a cheap price.

So what is the best type of luggage for travel? Unfortunately, this answer is not an easy one to give because it all depends on your wants and needs. As you know, these vary from traveler to traveler. For example, if flying by airplane, you want to consider your airline’s size requirements for checked and carryon luggage. If you are traveling by car, size may not be a big issue for you since you have more space. If traveling by motorcycle, you are seriously limited on space and must opt for compact motorcycle bags.

Even if luggage size is of great importance to you, still consider strength and durability. Unfortunately, basing your decision on price alone usually gets you some cheap luggage that is lucky to last two years. As for strength and durability, consider the quality of fabric used, the ease of using the zippers, the strength of the handle, and much more. Remember, quality doesn’t have to cost you an arm and a leg because you can price compare online to find the best price for your preferred suitcases; this gets you the best deal. Moreover, strength and durability saves you more money in the long-run because you should get a suitcase that lasts and withstands normal wear and tear for years.

Although not usually considered one of those must-consider factors, you may want to take overall appearance into consideration too. After all, who wants to roll an ugly suitcase that attracts laughs and stares across the airport? The goods news is that your options are unlimited. Suitcases are not only made with different fabrics, but they come in a wide range of colors, styles, and overall designs. You can opt for a “cute” suitcase, a “trendy” suitcase, or one that just looks presentable; the choice is yours. By shopping online, you can also get your luggage personalized with your name, company name, or company title.

In short, these are all factors you want to take into consideration. They are just starting points. Yes, cheap luggage sounds good at first, but be sure you choose a suitcase or a set of suitcases that not only fits your wallet, but your wants and needs, too.

Are you looking for more information on good quality, yet affordable – dare I say “cheap,” luggage?

New Years Eve in Barcelona

New Years Eve in Barcelona

After the lights and energy of Christmas, it’s time to see in the new year. This is an exciting and vibrant time of the year in many faiths and countries around the world. It’s a time to forgive and forget and to make those all important resolutions; most importantly, it’s a time to start afresh. Experience New Years Eve in a cosmopolitan city and spend your holiday in Barcelona.

Keeping with tradition, the new year celebrations begin by eating twelve grapes, one for every time the clock chimes for midnight. In many Spanish places this is performed outside and the streets are covered with people eating grapes. In Barcelona, it is not seen as necessary to eat the grapes outside and many eat their grapes at home before venturing outside for the big party.

Every club and venue is called into action at this time and usually organizes a special new year party for which tickets are issued in most cases. There are also super-sized parties held in venues across the country and some people choose to hire out their own private venue for a special party of their own. Others may be slightly more intimate and hold a party at their Barcelona accommodation for friends and family only. Although a diminishing tradition, some people wait to see the sun rise over a beach. Traditional food associated with new year is “churros”, a finger or banana shaped pastry and hot chocolate. During the New Years Eve time you can still find a lot of available Barcelona hotels and Barcelona apartments.

The first week of the new year is dedicated to children. On the night before the 5th January, the three kings – Melchior, Gaspar and Balthazar, disembark their ship at the harbour and there is a grand parade through the town with the kings and their pages – another opportunity for the children to get involved.  The kings are then left alone in the city to hide presents. It is customary to write a letter to the kings and request specific presents although they may like to throw in a few little surprises.

Another traditional food is the tortell de Reis which means King’s cake. This is a cake with a difference as it has a figurine hidden inside it. The person who is given the slice containing the figurine is celebrated with a paper crown. The cake itself is a round and simple sponge cake which is made by every bakery in the city. The cake has another trick up its sleeve too as the person who is served the slice containing a “faba”, a type of bean, has to pay for the cake.

These traditions are not all necessarily followed to the letter although the majority will participate, especially in the precession of the kings. In Barcelona Christmas is accepted as a time for having fun with friends and most importantly family.

Insuring Your Travel on a Shoe String

Insuring Your Travel on a Shoe String

Cheap travel insurance isn’t necessarily about who’s asking the lowest premium. Cheap travel insurance is about knowing your choices, perusing all the options and discarding the coverage you don’t need. If you end up with cheap travel insurance that doesn’t help you out of an overseas medical or evacuation jam, you haven’t gotten a bargain. However, if you’re a U.S. resident traveling within the United States you aren’t going to need travel insurance that offers medical evacuation coverage. If you’re touring the country by car you don’t need lost luggage protection.

Travel insurance can offer much more than medical care while you’re traveling. Some of the other features of some travel insurance plans are translation services, travel assistance, lost luggage, trip interruption, replacement of lost or damaged eyeglasses, repair of damaged or stolen rental vehicle, emergency medical evacuation coverage, flight cancellation due to bankruptcy of the airline, flight accident and terrorism.

For purposes of comparison there are four levels of travel insurance coverage – the most all-encompassing being total trip coverage. Some of these plans have a coverage ceiling as high as $500,000. Along with the above-mentioned travel catastrophes these plans also provide payment for return of traveler’s remains to home in the event of death, as well as emergency dental coverage and reimbursement for financial default of your travel agency or any other provider of your trip, such as cruise company.

The next level down, comprehensive, can provide up to $1 million in coverage with some carriers. The range of coverage incidents and the ceilings are often a little lower than total trip coverage, however.

When it comes to cheap travel insurance there are two options. You can choose the economy level of trip coverage or, if you travel extensively, you may do better paying an annual premium. You can also end up with cheap travel insurance if you mix and match your various issues, choosing only the coverage you need. You can, for instance, choose to purchase only flight ticket protection (in case of trip interruption, for reimbursement of your non-refundable ticket). Perhaps you might want to purchase AD&D (accidental death and dismemberment) coverage in case of airline accident. Or you might want to add, or purchase alone, some cheap travel insurance for medical care, and/or medical evacuation. You may choose to add reimbursement protection for lost or delayed baggage.

Cheap travel insurance is about making good choices and buying only what you need as you need it. It’s also about comparison shopping.
